In celebration of its 10th Anniversary in 2016, the Faculty organized a series of events and activities including academic conferences, public lectures and a Gala Dinner, which was the highlight of the celebratory events.
10th Anniversary Gala Dinner
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its establishment, the Faculty held its Gala Dinner at Conrad Hong Kong on 12 November 2016. Nearly 500 distinguished guests, alumni, students and staff of the Faculty gathered to share the joyful moments.
The Faculty was delighted to have the Honourable Mr. Justice Patrick Chan as the Guest of Honour to deliver a speech. On this exceptional occasion, the Faculty had specially prepared a mega sand timer, which represented a concerted collaborative effort of staff and students in recognising the successes of the Faculty in its first ten years. During the kick-off ceremony, officiating guests gave their blessings to the Faculty by pouring sand into the sand timer and the Faculty Dean Prof. Christopher Gane set the timer in motion, which symbolised the bringing of the Faculty’s accomplishments and best wishes forward to the next decade.
As a token of appreciation, the Faculty presented souvenirs to 16 staff who have been working in the Faculty for ten years or more. To conclude the Gala Dinner, ten CUHK law students and alumni from different programmes and years, sang a song to congratulate the Faculty on its 10th Anniversary and to thank all of the distinguished guests for their guidance and support.
