CUHK LAW Alumni Online Seminar – ‘Protecting product design in China’

Through studying relevant legal provisions and case studies, we will in this seminar discuss the protection of product design via trademark, copyright, design patent and anti-unfair competition law. We will also examine the pros and cons of each method and how to build a strong IP portfolio.

About the Speaker:

Ms. Wency Yu, Partner, AnJie Broad Law Firm

Dual qualified in China and New York, Ms. Yu has over 13 years of experience on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, with particular emphasis on trademark, copyright, domain name, design, trade dress and unfair competition matters. She has extensive experience on trademark portfolio management, IP enforcement (brand protection), IP litigation, strategic IP counselling, IP assignment and licensing.

Ms. Yu handled thousands of China IP cases, representing some of the most recognizable brands in the world. She represented around 10 Fortune 500 companies and SMEs in a broad range of industry sectors, primarily technology, fashion, entertainment, and automotive. She is able to provide legal services in three languages (Chinese, English and Japanese).

The Law Society of Hong Kong has awarded this seminar 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point.
