Mr. Michael BECKETT, Professional Consultant
BECKETT joined the Faculty in 2017 after teaching for more than 10 years at the City University of Hong Kong. Over the years he has taught many subjects in LLB, JD, LLM and PCLL. He is currently teaching Family Law, Administrative Law and Mediation at CUHK LAW. He has been invited to join various committees and Working Groups for the HK Department of Justice, HK Law Society and HKMAAL in relation to the advancement of Mediation. He was an original Member of the Working Group for the Civil Justice Reform. He is a trainer and assessor for Stage 1 and Stage 2 HKMAAL Mediation Accreditation. …more
Prof. BUI Ngoc Son, Assistant Professor
BUI received a PhD from the University of Hong Kong and LLB and LLM degrees from Vietnam National University-Hanoi. His research interest includes comparative constitutional law and comparative law. His book Confucian Constitutionalism in East Asia (2016) is based on his doctoral dissertation. His is writing the second book Constitutional Change in the Contemporary Socialist World for the Oxford Series in Comparative Constitutionalism. He was a research fellow at the Centre for Asian Legal Studies in the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, and a visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, Melbourne Law School, and Tsinghua Law School. …more
Prof. Angela DALY, Assistant Professor
Prof. Angela DALY is an internationally recognised socio-legal expert on the regulation of new technologies. She is the author of Socio-Legal Aspects of the 3D Printing Revolution (Palgrave 2016) and Private Power, Online Information Flows and EU Law: Mind the Gap (Hart 2016). She has recently completed further transnational research on 3D printing and intellectual property, funded by the UK Intellectual Property Office. Professor Daly holds a PhD from the European University Institute Faculty of Law (Italy) and has previously worked for OFCOM (UK) and Electronic Frontier Foundation (US) in ICT regulation and policy. She has current adjunct positions in Queensland University of Technology Faculty of Law (Australia) and the Tilburg Institute of Law, Technology and Society (Netherlands), and has been a visiting scholar at Stanford Law School (US) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China).
Prof. James ZENG, Assistant Professor
Professor Zeng graduated from Yale Law School with an LL.M and a J.S.D. degree. He was awarded the Oscar M. Reubhausen Fund at Yale Law School for his dissertation project. Prior to that Professor Zeng graduated from Peking University (LL.B., B.A. in Economics, Mphil in Law). He passed the National Judicial Examination of China and is admitted to the New York State Bar. His research interests include corporate law and finance, economic regulation, law and economics. …more
