CUHK LAW Alumni Online Seminar – ‘Web3.0 and Crypto/Virtual Assets – Trends, Regulations and Development’

This seminar will cover current trends and the regulatory landscape of Web3.0 and Crypto/Virtual Assets. We will via several case studies explore the linkages between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralised finance (DeFi), Stablecoins and CBDC.  We will also look ahead to future trends and the potential impact of Web3.0 and Crypto/Virtual Assets on the financial industry.

About the Speaker:

SK Lee is currently the Chief Executive of RD Wallet (SVF0016), the first SVF-licensed business-focused e-wallet, and a board director of RD ezLink, the first digital corporate KYC Utility in Hong Kong and Asia.

Mr Lee’s professional experience spans both the public and private sectors.  He began his career, from 1996 to 2006, in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Banking Supervision and Banking Policy Departments.  From 2006 to 2014 he was at Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited performing various compliance roles, with his last position as Head of Compliance in Retail Banking.  From 2014 to 2020 he was at Hang Seng Bank Limited, from 2014 to 2019 as Head of Financial Crime Compliance and Executive Committee member, and from 2019 to 2020 as Senior Executive in Business Development focusing on the Greater Bay Area.

Mr Lee is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified AML Professional (CAMLP) and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (FHKSI).  He holds Master degrees in Law (LLM, Common Law, CUHK), Banking (MSc Banking, CityU), Asian Studies (MA, HKU), and Bachelor degrees in Public & Social Administration (BA(Hons) PSA, CityU) and Law (LLB, MMU, UK).  He has also since 2021 been the main speaker of the HKU SPACE Regtech Certificate programme.

The Law Society of Hong Kong has awarded this seminar 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point.
