The presentation will focus on the process of obtaining information in three offshore jurisdictions – Bermuda, the BVI, and the Cayman Islands – to support Hong Kong proceedings. I will discuss the general methods available to acquire evidence in these jurisdictions, including from public sources, through shareholders exercising their specific rights, and by obtaining Court Orders such as the Norwich Pharmacal Order and other statutory relief. Additionally, I will cover the statutory powers of liquidators to compel the production of documents in these offshore locations.

Catherine is a trilingual disputes and restructuring lawyer qualified to practise in England & Wales, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Hong Kong. She also represents clients in Cayman Islands matters. Her practice covers all types of contentious cases, and focuses on high-value complex offshore shareholders’ disputes, winding up and liquidation proceedings, insolvency and restructuring matters, private wealth and trust disputes, fair value appraisal proceedings, urgent worldwide injunctions, and foreign judgment and arbitral award recognition and enforcement.

Catherine regularly publishes articles in international law journals, and frequently delivers presentations on contemporary topics.
